This wide-eyed and whimsical fellow is a tribute to my late grandmother's love of 1970s home decor and fashion. But I had to put a colorful twist on it which sparked a ridiculous name: purple + owl = purpowl.  We got a portmanteau word AND a pun out of it.  Major win! This hat is a real hoot to wear.
