Behind the Fleece

The Pingi Story

PingiHats are the twisted but fluffy brainchildren of Seattle artist Lynn Rosskamp. Every hat is an original, copyright design and is cut by hand and machine stitched with care by Lynn and Lovely Assistant Nikki. Lynn’s first character hat ever made was a penguin and thus was born the company name and logo.

All the hats are made from synthetic fleece, which is machine wash and dryable. We use high quality fabric to prevent pilling and shrinkage, even after multiple washings.

The hats can be seen in person at the PingiHats stall in Seattle’s famous Pike Place Market. Though vendors are assigned different spaces on a daily basis, our booth is usually set up on the Desimone Bridge, in the North Arcade of the main Market building (the other end of the Market from the famous fish tossing.) If you ask Lynn or our Amazing Sales Ninja Arlene nicely, they may even help you find the first Starbucks or throw the hats at you just like the fish guys! Most weeks we are reliably at the Market Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, depending on availability of space and the kindness of the weather gods. Please do come on down and see us if you’re in the Seattle area. The Market is a really fun place to visit and boasts hundreds of wonderful craftspeople with wares you will never find anywhere else.

To contact Lynn directly with any hat questions, please email lynn@pingihats.com or call 206-313-4777.
