We are holding a very special event next month at PingiHats - our first ever Hat-A-Thon for Seattle Children's Hospital. What, you may wisely ask, is a Hat-A-Thon? Only the most fun way to be creative and crafty and help kids feel a little better during a really rough time in their lives. We are gathering a group of volunteers to join with the Pingi staff to make as many cool hats as we can from noon to 8 PM on Sunday, October 2 at our work studio in Seattle's Queen Anne neighborhood. And then we will deliver those fine fleecy hats to the good folks at Children's Hospital in Seattle to dispense them to patients needing a little warmth and cheer.
Inspired by our (sadly) many customers who have lost their hair to chemotherapy for cancer treatment or for other medical causes, we wanted to give back to our community and thought, what better way than to do what we do best - make cool hats that make kids (and parents) happy.
If you are in the Seattle area and want to help, please join us for a portion of the day on October 2. We can always use more hands cutting, assembling and, if you've got the skills, sewing on one of our machines. If you want to help but can't be here, we could always use donations of fleece for these special hats or snacks to fuel our volunteers. Our work studio is located at 6 W Howe #2 (upper floor) in Seattle's Upper Queen Anne neighborhood, just off Queen Anne Ave. Feel free to contact us at lynn@pingihats.com for more info.
